Liberty Ruck & 5k - Ruston, LA
Liberty Ruck & 5k takes place on August 15, 2026, at 418 Dan Reneau Drive in Ruston, near the engineering buildings. The event offers running and rucking options and holds separate divisions for each distance.
Distances
- 5k (3.1 miles) - two lap course
- 1.7 mile ruck - one lap course
Registration opens on March 19 and closes on August 15. Entry fees are listed as an early bird rate of $30 until midnight August 14 and a race day rate of $40. Packet pick up is available the evening before at the United Way Business Location (939 N. Trenton St., Ruston, LA 71270) and also on race morning at the race site.
Awards are given to first overall male and female and to first male and female in each age group for both divisions. Age groups are 10-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61-70, and 71+.
Ninety percent of proceeds support the annual Veterans Day Program and ten percent will be donated to a veteran non profit. Participants are encouraged to wear attire representing branches of the U.S. military. After race activities include food trucks and music.
