Event Details
The Run Like A Girl 5K is an annual event organized by the Society of Women Engineers chapter at Louisiana Tech University. The 2026 edition will be its eighth.
All proceeds from the event are donated to 4 PAWS Rescue, USA, a local animal shelter. The organizers have a fundraising goal and previously raised at least $2,000 for the cause.
Event Options
The main event is a 5K race. Several participation options are available, including entries with or without a t-shirt. A unique feature is the option to participate with a dog, either from the rescue shelter or your own pet. Water bowls will be available for dogs during the race.
Course and Awards
The 5K route starts and finishes at the IESB (Integrated Engineering and Science Building) on the Louisiana Tech University campus in Ruston. The course is timed using a chip timing system. All participants completing the route receive a commemorative medal. Additional medals are awarded to the top male and female runner in each age division.
Logistics
