Run Like A Girl 5K
Louisiana Tech University's Society of Women Engineers hosts the eighth annual Run Like A Girl 5K on March 21, 2026 in Ruston, Louisiana. The course begins and ends at the Integrated Engineering and Science Building on the university campus, located at 418 Dan Reneau Dr.
All proceeds from the event will be donated to 4 PAWS Rescue, USA. The organizers note that last year they raised at least $2,000 for 4 PAWS Rescue and plan to match that goal again. An optional add on allows participants to walk with a dog from the rescue for a five dollar fee; this add on can be purchased with or without a shirt. Participants may also walk with their own dog and water bowls will be available along the route.
The event offers multiple registration options, including a race entry with or without a T shirt, an awareness T shirt only, and options that include walking with a dog. Each participant who completes the run or walk route will receive an official final time via timing chip and a commemorative medal. Additional medals will be awarded to the top male and top female runner in each age division. Race packet pickup will take place on the morning of the event at the IESB Amphitheater.
