Double Trouble 5K and 10K : Grapevine, TX
Double Trouble is the annual fall road and trail event organized by the Lake Grapevine Runners and Walkers (RAW) club. The 5K and 10K courses run on the C. Shane Wilbanks Trails around Lake Grapevine and are out-and-back routes that start and finish near the RAW clubhouse at Oak Grove Park. The courses use a combination of asphalt and concrete paved surfaces.
Participants may enter the 5K, the 10K, or run both races; staggered starts make running both possible. Aid stations provide water and Gatorade, with the 10K passing aid stations four times and the 5K passing them twice. Porta-potties are located at the start and finish area. Strollers and dogs are permitted but must start at the back; retractable dog leashes are not allowed. Children in strollers do not need to register unless they will receive event giveaways.
Timing is provided with IPICO shoe chip tags that are picked up on race day and returned at the finish line. Race shirts are technical, unisex, and available while supplies last in sizes XS through 2XL; one shirt per participant. Awards include medals for overall and age group winners, plus finisher medals for the first 100 double-race finishers. All events are volunteer produced and require about 100 volunteers. Primary parking is at Oak Grove Soccer Complex and additional parking is available at the Oak Grove Softball Complex north lot; all parking is free.
