LGRAW's Double Trouble 5K & 10K

The Double Trouble event is a signature fall race organized by the Lake Grapevine Runners and Walkers (RAW) club. Now in its 26th year, the event takes place in Grapevine, Texas, with the start and finish lines located near the RAW Clubhouse at the Oak Grove Park Softball Complex. The courses consist of out-and-back routes on asphalt and cement paved surfaces along the south shore of Grapevine Lake.

Participants can choose between the following distances:

  • 5K
  • 10K
  • 5K and 10K (Combined challenge)

The 5K and 10K routes utilize the C. Shane Wilbanks Trails, offering views of the lake through local parks and roads. Because the start times are staggered, individuals have the option to participate in both distances. The event uses the IPICO chip timing system with shoe tags to record results.

Water and Gatorade are provided at aid stations, with the 10K course passing these stations four times and the 5K course twice. The event allows the use of strollers and dogs, provided that dogs remain on a non-retractable leash no longer than six feet. Participants with strollers or dogs are asked to start at the back of the group. As a fundraiser, 30 percent of the proceeds are donated to a local charity, while the remaining funds support the running club's annual programs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
