LFS Patriot Day 5K
Little Flower School in Great Mills, Maryland hosts the 11th Annual LFS Patriot Day 5K on Saturday, September 5, 2026. The event reflects the school's stated values of faith, knowledge, and service and is presented as a community occasion to honor local patriots.
The event recognizes military personnel, firefighters, police officers, emergency medical technicians, and medical professionals. The program includes a Patriot of the Year recognition and a Patriot Organization of the Year vote, with a share of event proceeds directed to selected organizations.
Event offerings include:
- 5K run or walk
- 1 mile Kids' Fun Run for children ages 10 and under on the school grounds
Strollers are welcome on the race course. The event program features music, food, and exhibits from community organizations.
Patriot of the Year nominations require 1 to 2 paragraphs (up to 500 words) explaining why a nominee should be selected. Nominations must be submitted by August 25, 2026. Middle school students at Little Flower School will select the recipient using anonymous nominations; nominees will be notified by August 30, 2026 and are encouraged to attend the Opening Ceremony or designate a representative to accept recognition. Fifteen percent of event proceeds will be donated to the organization receiving the most votes, and ten percent will be donated to the charity chosen by the Patriot of the Year recipient.
