Lewis & Clark Marathon : Council Bluffs, Iowa
The Lewis & Clark Marathon takes place on April 24, 2027 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The event offers multiple race distances along a course that uses paved roads and paved recreational trails beside the Missouri River, around Lake Manawa, and through historic downtown Council Bluffs.
The full Marathon follows a scenic loop course. The Half Marathon, 5K, and Kids 1-Mile Fun Run use out-and-back routes. The terrain is mostly flat with gentle rolling hills. The course passes several historic sites, including the Historic General Dodge House, Council Bluffs Union Station, the Golden Spike Monument, sections of the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail, and parts of the Mormon Trail.
Finishers in the Marathon and Half Marathon receive a premium finisher medal, a custom technical race shirt, and a race-day goodie bag. 5K finishers receive a custom finisher medal, technical shirt, and goodie bag. Every young participant in the Kids 1-Mile Fun Run receives a finisher medal. Complimentary gear check and free participant parking near the start and finish area are provided. Pets and wheeled devices are not permitted on the course. Jogging strollers are allowed in the 5K and Kids 1-Mile Fun Run but are not permitted in the Marathon or Half Marathon.
