It is the first annual edition, part of the celebration of America's 250th anniversary and Lewes's historical role as the First Town in the First State. The event will benefit the Lewes 250 Committee.

Location & Course

The race starts and finishes at Georgia Beach, with a secondary location mentioned as Johnny Walker Beach. Organizers describe the course as "Fast & Flat." Water stops are available at the start, finish, and near the halfway point along the course. Participants are instructed to follow a marked route with arrows and cones and are asked to stay on the designated roads for safety.

Registration & Amenities

Entry fees are tiered:

  • $30 for early bird registration through April 5.
  • $35 for race week registration through April 10 at noon.
  • $40 for race day registration.

Packet pickup is planned for 2:30 PM to 3:45 PM on race day. Short-sleeve t-shirts are offered as an amenity, with awards for the top finishers. A "best patriotic outfit" contest with awards for the top three is also part of the event. Post-race, there will be a bonfire with food like hot dogs, pretzels, and s'mores.

Participation Rules

For safety, the event guidelines state that bikes and unregistered runners ("bandits") are not allowed on the course. The use of headphones or earpods is discouraged, and if used, participants are asked to wear them in one ear only at a low volume. Plenty of parking is available at Georgia Beach and Savannah Beach.
