Leon's Triathlon (America's Race)
Leon's Triathlon is a multi-day race weekend held in Hammond, Indiana, at 2324 Calumet Ave. The event honors and supports Military, Veterans, and First Responders and notes an ongoing tradition of community service spanning over 40 years. Race activities are scheduled across Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7.
A range of race formats is offered, including standard triathlon distances, relay options, a paratriathlon national qualifier, a swim-run for youth, and a free non-competitive 5K fun run. Several championship events are restricted to Military and First Responders. The paratriathlon development series entry is limited to paratriathlon athletes.
Race weekend logistics include packet pickup on Saturday for Olympic and Sprint distances and a separate youth packet pickup, open water swim sessions, prerace talks, Dare2Tri sessions, a youth triathlon, and a planned canine triathlon pending registration. The event also features a military procession, an opening ceremony, transition area operations, road closures around the venue, and an awards ceremony. Participants are asked to bring a valid photo ID and a USAT membership card if applicable.
