Leg It Round Lathkil Race
The Leg It Round Lathkil Race is a fell running event based at The Lathkil Hotel in Over Haddon, near Bakewell in the Peak District. The event for 2026 is scheduled for Sunday 8 November and raises money for the Children in Need appeal. The hotel serves as the race venue with on-site accommodation and restaurant facilities.
Distances
- 11.5 km senior fell race, 290 m ascent (approx 950 ft)
- 3 km Fun Run along the lower section of Lathkill Dale
The course runs through Lathkill Dale and Cales Dale, using sections of good running track, rocky and potentially slippery paths, limestone steps, open fields and lanes. The route passes landmarks such as Lathkil Lodge, Sheepwash Bridge, Calling Low Farm, the Limestone Way, Meadow Place Wood and Conksbury Bridge, and finishes at a field overlooked by the hotel. The senior route includes steady climbs to a high point around 1050 ft.
Entry is on the day only with published fees for senior and fun run entries. Parking is signposted on arrival and a field may be used for a small parking charge with proceeds to Children in Need. Natural England requires runners to arrive with clean footwear for biosecurity; a hose facility will be available on the day. OS Explorer map OL24 covers the area. Prize giving takes place at the hotel. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
