Left Bank Triathlon - Fremantle Triathlon Club
The Left Bank Triathlon takes place at John Tonkin Reserve and Riverside Road, East Fremantle, along the Swan River. The event offers three race options:
- Sprint: 750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run
- Novice: 300m swim, 10km bike, 2.5km run
- Aqua bike: 750m swim, 20km bike
The swim legs take place in the sheltered Swan River. The bike course runs on closed sections of Riverside and Preston Point Road and is run as multiple laps. The run follows Riverside Road and includes one or two laps along riverside paths.
Transition is located on the grass at John Tonkin Reserve. Facilities at the venue include several BBQs, a children’s playground, a foreshore café and toilets.
Categories are awarded separately for male and female competitors across junior, adult and masters age groups, and there are specified minimum ages for the Novice and Sprint distances. The race contributes double points to the Fremantle Club Championships and the Aquabike is part of the WA Triathlon State Series.
Participants must follow the event rules and safety procedures set by the organiser. Swim caps provided by the organiser must be worn, helmets are mandatory for cycling, powered-assisted bicycles are not permitted, and support crews are generally not allowed in competition areas.
