City of Joondalup Coastal Quest Triathlon
The City of Joondalup Coastal Quest Triathlon is held at Whitford Nodes Park, Hillarys on the northern beaches of Perth. The 2026 edition is scheduled for 13 December 2026 and runs as part of the WA Tri Series.
The event offers multiple race options for juniors, novices and age-group athletes, including short-format and team relay races. For Triathlon Australia and TWA Standard or Premium members the Coastal Quest will score points in the 2026/27 Senior and Junior State Series. The event is also recognised as a qualifying race for selection to the Australian Age Group Team for the 2027 World Triathlon Age Group World Championships in Hamburg, subject to AusTriathlon selection criteria and membership requirements.
In 2026 the event is presented as the WA State Championship over the Sprint distance for junior (14-15 years and 16-19 years) and senior athletes 20 years and older, and over the Bolt distance for juniors aged 12-13 years.
Race distances and formats include:
- Sprint 750m swim, 20km ride, 5km run
- Sprint Team Relay 750m swim, 20km ride, 5km run
- Aqua Bolt 300m swim, 2km run
- Bolt 300m swim, 7km ride, 2km run
- Duathlon 2km run, 20km ride, 5km run
- AquaBike 750m swim, 20km ride
- Tin Lids (7-11 years) 100m swim, 3km ride, 500m run
Eligibility for Australian Age Group selection requires a Standard or Premium AusTriathlon membership and competing in the nominated race distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
