About the race
The 14th Annual LECOM 5K and one mile Wellness Walk takes place in Erie, Pennsylvania at the LECOM Medical Fitness & Wellness Center on August 7, 2027. The event offers timed and untimed options over two distances:
- 5K
- 1 mile
There are four entry options: a timed 5K run with timing bibs and placement medals for the top three male and top three female finishers; a 5K walk/run that is not timed and is not eligible for placement medals; a timed one mile walk that uses timing bibs but is not eligible for placement medals; and an untimed one mile walk. The registration fee is $25 and registration is open through race day.
A race expo is held the day before the event at the Wellness Center and includes packet pickup, local vendors, free gait assessments by LECOM clinicians, and a pre-race shake-out run and shoe demos open to registered participants. Packet pickup is also available on race morning. Every registrant receives a premium white long-sleeve shirt while supplies last. Post-race refreshments such as fruit and water will be available. All proceeds support the LECOM Student Scholarship Fund, which helps defray educational costs for LECOM students; LECOM reported distributing more than $4 million in student scholarships during the 2025–2026 academic year.
