Leadville Firecracker 5K

The Leadville Firecracker 5K takes place in Leadville, CO on July 4, 2026. The event is held in downtown Leadville, described as North America's highest incorporated city. The 5 kilometer course starts and finishes in downtown Leadville and is open to adults and youth.

There are separate entries for adults and youth. Bib pickup is available at the corner of Harrison Avenue and 5th Street before the race. The race is followed by the Independence Day parade in Leadville.

Registration fees are listed as Adults $25 with a higher fee after July 2, and Youth (17 and under) free. Registration closes July 3.

Proceeds benefit Leadville youth athletics and recreation, with examples including Children's Fishing Day and the Nordic team.
