Race in the Clouds - Alma Dirt Festival 2027
Race in the Clouds - Alma Dirt Festival takes place June 25 to June 27, 2027 in Alma Cemetery Meadow, Alma, Colorado, at approximately 10,600 feet elevation. The weekend program includes mountain bike races, off road duathlon, trail running, a free kids bike and run event, and weekend camping.
Courses use a mix of single-track, forest service roads, and graded county roads. Each loop includes two significant climbs, fast descents, and high country terrain. A new trail half marathon course is listed at 13.4 miles with 2,600 feet of climbing and sections above tree line. The Sunday Trail 10K allows leashed dogs and has a Doggie Division.
Camping is offered in the alpine meadow near the start area. Athletes receive a 50 percent camping discount with race entry. Camping opens Thursday morning and early arrival is allowed with a camping pass. Participants are advised to bring their own water and camping essentials; porta potties will be available in the meadow.
Awards include overall top Men, Women and Non-Binary in each race format, plus multiple age group awards. High school and middle school divisions are provided with age bands for middle school athletes ages 11 to 14 and high school athletes ages 15 to 18. Parents and coaches may join the High School/Middle School wave for free by requesting an entry code after an athlete registers.
