Leadville Trail Marathon & Heavy Half - Leadville, Colorado
The Life Time Leadville Trail Marathon and Heavy Half are trail races held June 27, 2026 in Leadville, Colorado. Both follow out-and-back dirt roads and single track through the historic mining district on the east side of Leadville and reach Mosquito Pass at 13,185 feet.

The Heavy Half follows the same path as the marathon except for the Ball Mountain section. The course is primarily on old mining roads and trails, may have snow in places, and will be marked with fluorescent pink-and-black ribbon and flour arrows.
There are seven aid stations on the marathon course and three on the Heavy Half. Aid stations supply water, Neversecond energy gels and high-carbohydrate drink mix, Skratch Labs hydration products, bars and chews, and assorted foods such as bananas and pretzels.
Event logistics note that general registration is sold out and a waitlist exists. Minimum ages are 16 for the marathon and 14 for the Heavy Half. Entry fees listed for 2026 were Marathon $160 and Heavy Half $140. Athletes and crews must use designated parking areas and shuttles to reach the start; parking at the startline is not permitted.
The marathon serves as a qualifier for the Leadville Trail 100 Run. A minimum of 35 qualifier coins are allocated at qualifying events and are awarded only to finishers of the longest distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
