Event overview
The Life Time Leadville Trail Marathon & Heavy Half takes place in Leadville, Colorado on June 27, 2026. The races run through the historic mining district on the east side of Leadville and reach Mosquito Pass at 13,185 feet. The courses use old mining roads and single track and may include snow on parts of the route. Minimum ages on race day are 16 for the marathon and 14 for the Heavy Half. Registration opens 1/9/26.

- 26.4 miles - Trail Marathon, out-and-back
- 15.46 miles - Heavy Half, same path minus the Ball Mountain section
Course, aid stations and logistics
The Heavy Half has three aid stations; the marathon has seven aid stations. Aid stations offer water, Neversecond energy gels and high-carbohydrate drink, Skratch Labs hydration, energy bars and chews, and assorted foods such as bananas, figs, pretzels, chips, and cola products. The course will be marked with fluorescent pink-and-black ribbon and flour arrows.
Crew access on course is limited to the start/finish area and the Resurrection aid station. Resurrection can be reached by driving from community lots via 7th Street or via crew shuttles from the start area. All athletes and crews must park at the Community Fields and High School parking lots and use shuttles or other non-startline transport. Packet pickup is located at the expo at E. 6th and Poplar and packets must be collected in person with photo ID. The marathon serves as a qualifier for the Leadville Trail 100; at least 35 qualifier coins are available and distribution includes performance-based slots and a finishers' lottery.
