Leader of the Pack 5K

The event is scheduled for May 2, 2026 at McNair Field, 214 McNair Drive, Forest City, NC 28043. It includes an in person 5K and a virtual do it yourself 5K that can be completed at any time and location.

Registration opens January 28, 2026. Adult registration is listed at $25 through April 16, 2026; a higher adult fee applies after that date. A student rate for ages 18 and under is listed as $10 early and $15 later. A race shirt is guaranteed for registrations received by April 16, 2026; after that shirts are available on race day while supplies last.

Awards are planned for top overall male and female, top master male and female, and age group awards for male and female in the following groups: 0-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+. Trophies will be awarded to the top three schools based on participant check in and school affiliation present on race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
