Event Overview
The Bear Foot 5K is the 21st edition of an annual running event in Bostic, North Carolina. All proceeds benefit the K-5 students of Sunshine Elementary School.
Distances and Participants
The event offers two activities.
- A 5K open race with registration required.
- A Half Mile fun run or walk for children in the 5th grade and under. This is free and does not require registration.
Awards and Details
In the 5K, the top three male and female finishers overall receive a trophy. Medals are awarded to the top three males and females in numerous age divisions, from 5 and under to 95+. The fun run is not timed, but every participating child receives a medal.
The event is held rain or shine. Pets are not permitted.
Location and Packet Pickup
All activities take place at Sunshine Elementary School, located at 231 Toney Road, Bostic, NC.
Packet pickup is available on the Friday before the race from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Sunshine Elementary, and on race day on-site from 7:00 AM to 8:15 AM.
Participant Giveaway
Participants in the 5K can receive a hoodie, short-sleeve, or long-sleeve t-shirt. A specific shirt preference is guaranteed for those registered by February 27, 2026, and is offered based on availability after that date. Shirts are not included with the free half-mile fun run, but additional shirts may be available for purchase. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
