21st Annual Bear Foot 5K and Half Mile Fun Run
The event is a community running day at Sunshine Elementary School in Bostic, NC on March 14, 2026. It includes a 5K and a 1/2 mile fun run. All proceeds benefit Sunshine Elementary School K-5 students. The event will be held rain or shine and pets are not allowed.

The 5K offers a giveaway with a choice of a hoodie, short sleeve, or long sleeve t-shirt. Shirt preference is guaranteed for 5K registrants who register by February 27, 2026; after that date preference is not guaranteed and additional shirts may be available for purchase while supplies last. There is a phantom runner registration option.
The half mile fun run is for children in 5th grade and under. That run is not timed, there is no registration fee, and each child will receive a medal.
Age divisions in the 5K start at 5 and under and continue in standard brackets up to 95 plus. The top three male and female finishers in each age group receive medals. Overall top three male and female finishers in the 5K receive trophies. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
