Rodent Wriggle 2026
Norfolk & Suffolk LDWA is holding the third Rodent Wriggle, a waymarked countryside event based at Needham Market Community Centre, School Street, Needham Market IP6 8BB. The event follows the upper reaches of the River Rat through Mid Suffolk countryside and offers routes that rejoin to a common finish. The 31.5 mile route passes ten historic churches, including Great Finborough, Harleston and Rattlesden.
Distances:
- 13.5 mile route, branches at 7 miles and returns to the main route.
- 23 mile route, branches at 12.5 miles and returns to the main route.
- 31.5 mile route, approximately 50k, follows the full main route.
Checkpoint and catering arrangements include one checkpoint on the short route, three on the 23 mile route and four on the 31.5 mile route. Checkpoints provide refreshments and snacks, and a light meal is served at the finish. Checkpoint opening and closing times must be observed; late long route arrivals at checkpoint 2 will be directed to the shorter route.

A downloadable route description and GPX will be made available on the N&S LDWA website before the event and should be carried in a waterproof cover. Participants should bring a personal mug. Dogs are permitted on leads but are not allowed inside halls except assistance dogs. Parking is available at the community centre for long and medium routes; short route parking is available nearby. Entries are limited to 165, not transferable, and there are no on the day entries. Entry fees are £16 for LDWA members and £26 for non members. A certificate is awarded to all finishers.
