Great Barrow Challenge : Day 1 (Denham Flats)
The Day 1 race of the Great Barrow Challenge is hosted by Zig Zag Running at the Suffolk Running Centre, Church Road, Bury St Edmunds, IP29 5AX. This entry is for a single day of the 10 day series and offers a choice of distances on a named route called Denham Flats.
Distances available:
- 5 km out and back to a 5 km turnpoint
- 10.4 km out and back (one loop)
- Half marathon two loops of the 10.4 km route
- Marathon four loops of the 10.4 km route
- Ultra either four loops plus a 5 km turnpoint or five full loops
Route details for Denham Flats: 10.4 km out and back from the campsite, 100% road, approximately 22 m of total climb, highest point 107 m and lowest 89 m. The course is largely flat and returns along the same lanes.
Event provisions and rules include parking included with entry, a base camp at the start and lap point with a water and aid station, bespoke medals issued each day, and a cupless policy so participants must bring a bottle or cup for refilling. Roads are open to traffic so dogs and buggies are not allowed and headphones are not permitted except bone conductor types. A GPX file is available from the course tab.
