Lawndale 5K - North Lawndale, Chicago
The Lawndale 5K is an annual community walk and run hosted by Lawndale Christian Fitness Center with support from Lawndale Christian Health Center. The event has been held since 2008 and is organized in North Lawndale, Chicago at 3750 W Ogden Ave. The 2026 edition is the 18th annual race.
The event program includes a 5K run/walk, a Kids Dash, a Virtual Run, and volunteer opportunities both before the event and on race day. Packet pickup has been offered at Green Tomato Cafe (3750 W Ogden Ave) on several days before the race, with race morning pickup also available.
Proceeds from the Lawndale 5K support the FitnessRx program, which provides free fitness center memberships for patients of Lawndale Christian Health Center who have a chronic illness. The organizing partners describe the event as part of broader efforts to promote healthy living, to strengthen local community ties, and to connect people with the fitness and wellness programs offered by their ministries.
