Lava Rocks! Sprint Triathlon - Aquabike - May 30, 2026
The event takes place in Lavallette, New Jersey, at Washington Avenue Bayfront Park (use 1207 Bay Boulevard for GPS). The program includes three events: the Lava Rocks Sprint Triathlon, an AquaBike, and a Triathlon Relay. Packet pickup is available the day before at the same venue and there is on-site check-in and a pre-race briefing on race day.
Course details:
- Triathlon distances: 1/4 mile swim, 12.50 mile bike, 5k run
- AquaBike distances: 1/4 mile swim and 12.50 mile bike
The swim is a single-loop, semi-protected bay course. Expected water temperatures are in the low 70s; USAT wetsuit rules apply, including required use at 60.8 degrees F and below, permitted use between 60.9 and 78.0 degrees F, restricted award eligibility if water is 78.1–83.9 degrees F, and prohibited use at 84.0 degrees F and above.
The bike course is a flat, three-loop route on Bay Boulevard with two turns per loop; the bike course is open to traffic. The run is a single flat loop along Barnegat Bay and Bay Boulevard; the run course is open to traffic.
Awards are given overall and by age group, with additional Clydesdale and Athena divisions, relay awards, resident awards, and AquaBike combined awards. USAT membership and event rules apply; athletes must follow race regulations and safety requirements. No refunds, transfers, or credits are permitted.
