Event Overview
The Last Friday of the Month 5k is a recurring monthly race held in Hyde Park, London. The event is organized by volunteers from the Serpentine Running and Triathlon Club and follows a 5 km distance. The race is conducted under UK Athletics rules and features a 2-lap course that starts and finishes at the Boat House on the northern side of the Serpentine lake.
Participation and Regulations
The race is open to everyone with a minimum age requirement of 11 years. A cut-off time of 35 minutes is in place; participants finishing after this limit will not have their results recorded, and the course will no longer be marshalled. For safety reasons, the use of headphones or other hearing impediments is not permitted during the race.
Facilities and Logistics
There are no changing or shower facilities available at the site, so participants are expected to arrive in their running kit. Public toilets are located near the Bandstand, approximately 500m from the start, and require a card payment. While personal belongings can be left near the start area, there is no secure storage provided. The organizers do not provide water at the event, but refreshments are available for purchase at the nearby Serpentine Bar and Kitchen or various park kiosks.
Entry and Results
Registration must be completed online in advance, as race-day entries are not permitted due to Royal Parks regulations. Participants who already have a race number do not need to register separately on the day. Results are typically published on the organizer's website on the evening of the race. The event also includes a league championship based on age-graded results, considering the best six performances throughout the year. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
