Event overview
The 5th Annual Runway Run is a chip-timed road event held at Laredo International Airport in Laredo, TX on January 31, 2026. The event includes two course options:
- 5K
- 1K
Participants run on active airport runways and will pass areas where commercial and general aviation aircraft operate. There will be displays of airport equipment, including fire apparatus and various airline ground support equipment. The first 400 registrants receive a shirt, a finisher’s medal and a timing bib. Overall awards for male and female finishers are listed as TBA. Age-group awards are offered for male and female in these brackets: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+, plus an other abilities category.
Location, logistics and rules
The venue is the Old Airport Terminal - Signature Flight Support Building at 4805 Maher Ave., Laredo, TX 78041. Packet pick-up is available the evening before and on race day. Free parking is provided at El Metro Park and Ride on Hillside Rd. and Thomas Ave; the event is not accessible from the main terminal. Entry fees are nonrefundable but registrations may be transferred to another participant. Race rules include no strollers on the runway, no skateboards, rollerblades, bikes or pets, no selfie sticks on the runway, signed waivers required, and a designated spectator zone.
