Langdale Horseshoe

The Langdale Horseshoe is a challenging fell race held in Great Langdale, Lake District, starting near the Old Dungeon Ghyll Hotel. Covering 21.1 km (12.5 miles) with 1450m (4600ft) of ascent, the course features rough, rocky, and slippery terrain with many pathless sections, demanding strong navigation skills especially in typical October weather conditions that are often harsh and foggy. The race is suitable only for experienced fell runners with prior mountain race experience.

It is part of the Lakeland Classics Trophy series and includes team competitions. Entry is limited, with a focus on safety and adherence to Fell Running Association rules. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
