Laketown Distance Festival Run/Walk
The Laketown Distance Festival Run/Walk takes place on January 23, 2027 at the Kenner Lakefront on Lake Pontchartrain. The event is owned and produced by Lazy Hound Racing and benefits the Rotary Club of Kenner. The event site is at the end of Williams Boulevard, 6000 Williams Blvd, Kenner, LA 70065.
Participants can choose from these distances:
- 5K
- 10K
- 10 Mile
All entries include chip timing, a long sleeve poly-cotton race shirt, a custom finisher medal, and post-race refreshments. Post-race provisions listed for participants include hot pancakes with sausage, coffee, a mimosa bar, beer, soft drinks, bottled water, and other snacks.
Course information notes a paved lakefront jogging path that is narrow (about 9 feet wide) with numerous aid stations and a lead bike for each distance. The 10 Mile course carries a USATF-RRTC certification number LA14016JF and has a course time limit of 2 hours 45 minutes.
Pre-race packet pickup is scheduled for Thursday, January 21 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Ron Jewelers, 4103 Williams Blvd, Kenner, LA 70065. There is free parking at nearby lakefront parking lots and on the south side of the levee between Williams Blvd and the Pontchartrain Center.
Safety guidance requests that participants minimize audio devices, keep to the right on out-and-back sections, and manage pets on short leashes near the back of the field. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
