Laketown Distance Festival Run/Walk

The Laketown Distance Festival Run/Walk is scheduled for January 24, 2026 at Kenner Lakefront on Lake Pontchartrain, at the end of Williams Blvd. The event benefits the Rotary Club of Kenner and is produced by Lazy Hound Racing.

All participants receive chip timing, a long sleeve poly-cotton race shirt, a custom finisher medal, and post-race refreshments. The post-race offering includes pancakes and sausage prepared by the Rotary Club, a mimosa bar, coffee, beer, bottled water, and other snacks.

Course and logistics

The 10 Mile course is USATF-RRTC certified, certification number LA14016JF. The event uses a paved lakefront jogging path that is about 9 feet wide and follows an out-and-back format; runners and walkers are asked to keep to the right on the way out and back. There are numerous aid stations on course and a lead bike for each distance. The 10 Mile distance has a course time limit of 2 hours 45 minutes. Packet pickup is available the day before at Ron Jewelers, 4103 Williams Blvd, Kenner, LA. Free parking is available at lakefront parking lots and on the south side of the levee between Williams Blvd and the Pontchartrain Center.
