Laketown Distance Festival Run/Walk
The Laketown Distance Festival Run/Walk is a community road event on January 23, 2027 at the Kenner Lakefront on Lake Pontchartrain, at the end of Williams Boulevard. The event benefits the Rotary Club of Kenner.
Participants can choose from these distances:
- 5K
- 10K
- 10 Mile
All participants receive chip timing, a long sleeve poly-cotton race shirt, a custom finisher medal, and post race refreshments. The Rotary Club of Kenner will serve pancakes and other sponsors provide coffee, mimosas, beer, bottled water and sweet treats.
The 10 Mile course is USATF-RRTC certified (Certification LA14016JF). The course runs on a paved lakefront jogging path that is approximately 9 feet wide, with numerous aid stations and a lead bike for each distance. The 10 Mile course has a time limit of 2 hours 45 minutes. Runners and walkers are asked to keep to the right on the out-and-back sections and to use trash cans at water stations for discarded items.
Packet pickup is scheduled the Thursday before the race at Ron Jewelers, 4103 Williams Blvd, Kenner, LA 70065. There is free parking in nearby lakefront lots and on the south side of the levee between Williams Boulevard and the Pontchartrain Center. The event is owned and produced by Lazy Hound Racing.
