Lakeshore CAP 0.5K "Race for the Rest of Us"
The Lakeshore CAP 0.5K is presented as a tongue in cheek athletic event in Manitowoc, WI. The organizers describe it as a lighthearted competition that encourages relaxed training habits such as sleeping in, eating donuts, and drinking beer.
Participants receive a swag bag with assorted items, including a smug oval magnet, a one of a kind event t-shirt, and a participation medal. The course length is 0.5K (546.8 yards / 1,640 feet), and the route starts and ends at PetSkull Brewing, winding around a small city block.
Along the course there are themed rest stations and enthusiastic supporters. First aid may be available from spectators or a retired nurse if one is present. Parking is available around PetSkull Brewing and on surrounding streets, though participants may need to park a block or two away.
Packet pick up is held prior to the race; volunteers will have swag bags at a table, tent, or similar setup. After the event there will be food, beer, music, raffles, and games.
