Ullswater
This is a trail running event on the eastern shore of Ullswater, based at Glenridding with the finish in Jenkin's Field. Runners may travel to the start by boat when weather permits; a contingency land start is used if boats cannot sail.
The event offers the following route options:
- 10 km trail route
- 14 km trail route with climbs to Silver Crag and Boredale Hause
Courses are waymarked and marshalled, and include mainly scenic trails with some short tarmac sections, rocky and rooty ground, and a road crossing close to the finish. Competitors must carry compulsory kit: a hat or buff, gloves, a waterproof jacket and over-trousers or running tights; kit checks take place before boarding. Earbud headphones that block ambient sound are not allowed; bone conduction headphones are permitted. Dogs are not allowed on the course.
On site there is an event village with food and drink stalls, a sports retailer, baggage storage near the main marquee, portable toilets, real-time online results and a professional photographer. Event medics and the mountain rescue team will provide safety cover, and marshals will staff the course.
