Keswick Lakeland Trails
The event is a set of trail races around Derwentwater with start and finish in Fitz Park, Keswick. Fully marked and marshalled courses follow footpaths and bridleways and offer panoramic views of Derwentwater, Skiddaw, Blencathra and the northern fells. The terrain is mainly hard packed trails with occasional muddy sections and some hills.
Distances and entry details:
- 5 km Derwentwater Sport Trail; min age 12; price £18.50 (U16 £10)
- 10 km Derwentwater Trail Run; min age 16; price £34
- 15 km Derwentwater Trail Race and Challenge options; min age 18; price £34
Courses include one water station on the 15 km route (at approximately 11 km) and one on the 10 km route (at approximately 6 km). Competitors are asked to carry their own water or bring a reusable cup as cups are not supplied at on course stations. Dogs are not permitted on the course. In ear headphones are not allowed; bone conduction devices are permitted.
Event logistics include managed parking at Keswick School (postcode CA12 5QB) with a charge for cars and vans, a main registration marquee for number collection, baggage storage adjacent to the marquee, live music and food stalls in the event village, an on site sports retailer with INOV8 demo shoes, and a professional photographer with free photos available after the event.
