Lakeland Paws: Tour de Whinlatter
The Lakeland Paws: Tour de Whinlatter is an off-road running event held in the forest trails around Whinlatter Top. This event serves as the seventh installment in a nine-part series organized by Green Space Events Ltd. The course utilizes wide forest tracks and avoids technical ground, though the terrain features significant elevation changes.
Participants have a choice between two distinct distances:
- 9 km route with approximately 380 m of ascent.
- 12 km route with approximately 500 m of ascent.
The routes are designed to tour the quieter sections of the forest and contour around the summit. The event is open to runners both with and without dogs. For those participating with dogs, a suitable harness is required, and specialized equipment is available to borrow from the organizers if needed.
The event is chip timed and the course is fully marked for navigation. Participants also have access to GPX files for the routes. The minimum age for entry is 16 years old.
