Lakeland Paws: Tour de Whinlatter
The Lakeland Paws: Tour de Whinlatter is an off-track running event held within the forest environment of Whinlatter. This event is the seventh installment in a series of nine races organized by Green Space Events Ltd. The course is designed on wide forest tracks and avoids technical terrain, focusing on the quieter areas of the forest as it contours around Whinlatter Top.
Participants can choose between two distinct distances:
- 9 km route featuring approximately 380m of total ascent.
- 12 km route featuring approximately 500m of total ascent.
The event is open to runners competing with or without dogs. For those running with dogs, animals must be handled using a suitable harness. Equipment for canicross is available to borrow if required. The course is fully marked for navigation, and participants also have access to GPX files. All participants are chip timed to provide accurate results.
The minimum age for entry is 16 years. Both distances primarily follow the same wide trail ground, characterized by a non-technical but undulating profile. The event takes place on Sunday, 29th March 2026, with an entry fee of £19.00. Registration is managed through an online platform, and entries typically close the evening before the event.
