Lakeland Paws: Tour de Whinlatter
Lakeland Paws: Tour de Whinlatter is a trail running event in Whinlatter forest on 4 April 2027. It forms one event in the Lakeland Paws series and is listed as the seventh of nine events in the series.
The event offers two route options:
- 9 km - around 380 m ascent, mainly wide forest tracks.
- 12 km - around 500 m ascent, mainly wide forest tracks.
Both routes run on wide forest tracks through quieter, less well known parts of the forest and contour around Whinlatter Top. The ground is not technical, the trails are generally runnable, and there are some rolling or "lumpy" sections. The shorter route is slightly easier while the longer route covers additional ascent; both mainly share the same ground.
Dogs may run but must wear a suitable harness; borrowing kit is available from Non-Stop Dog Wear. Runners may also compete without dogs.
The event is chip timed and the course is marked; GPX files are available. Entry requires registration, the minimum age is 16 or older, the entry fee is £20, and entries open and close on the listed dates. The event is organised by Green Space Events Ltd.
