Lakeland Paws: Tour de Whinlatter
Lakeland Paws: Tour de Whinlatter is a forest running event in Whinlatter that takes place on Sunday 4 April 2027. It uses quieter, less well known parts of the forest and follows wide forest tracks with generally runnable terrain, though some sections are a bit lumpy rather than technical.
The event offers two distance options:
- 9 km - around 380 m of ascent
- 12 km - around 500 m of ascent
Both routes mainly cover the same ground and contour around Whinlatter Top. The course is chip timed, marked, and GPX files are available for download. Dogs are permitted but must be run on a suitable harness; kit to borrow is provided by Non-Stop Dog Wear. Runners are also welcome to compete without dogs.
This event is listed as the seventh of nine in the Lakeland Paws series. Entries open on 27 April 2026 and close on 3 April 2027. Minimum age to enter is 16 and the entry fee is £20. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
