Lakeland Paws: Grizedale Growl
This event is part of Season 5 and is the second of up to nine events in the series. It takes place in Grizedale Forest on the south side of the forest, with views across Coniston Water. The course uses wide forest paths and a mix of forest roads and trails.
Runners may choose between two marked, chip timed course options:
- 10K, loop with 250 m ascent
- 5K, option with 180 m ascent
The 5K avoids some of the ascent and is noted as the shorter option. Individual starts are used so each athlete and their dog have space to start safely. The route is the original Grizedale route used by the series and allows two dogs per runner on this wide-path course. All dogs must be run on a suitable harness. Runners may also compete without dogs.
