Lakeland Paws: Dogs@ Dodd
This event takes place in Dodd Wood as part of the Lakeland Paws series. It is the series' fifth season and the season includes nine events. The course is fully marked and the route mixes forest roads and trails. Individual starts are used so dogs have space at the start.
The route climbs and then contours around the summit of Dodd, with a downhill section that provides views toward the Coledale Fells. The terrain is undulating and the final descent is relatively steep, so runners should keep to their own pace. Because much of the route uses wide trails, two dogs per runner are allowed on most sections, but some parts are narrower and all dogs must run on a suitable harness. Runners may compete without dogs.
The event offers two distance options:
- 8K loop, 370 m ascent
- 5K, 210 m ascent
The event is chip timed and will be marked. GPX files are available for download. The minimum age for entry is 16 years. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
