Event overview

The Altra 13 Valleys Ultra is a multi-distance trail event held in the Lake District National Park from Friday 25 to Sunday 27 September 2026. The route links the 13 named valleys that form part of the Lake District UNESCO World Heritage designation. The course runs over fells, around lakes and through valleys, with regular check points and feed stations on the route. The event is organised in partnership with the Lake District National Park.

Distances

  • 184.3 km - 7000m+ climb, highest 800m+, 12 feed stations, cut-off 46.5 hours.
  • 110.3 km - 3800m+ climb, highest 800m+, 7 feed stations, cut-off 28 hours.
  • 58.4 km - 2500m+ climb, highest 800m+, 3 feed stations, cut-off 19 hours, waymarked.
  • 22.4 km - 500m+ climb, highest 400m+, 1 feed station, cut-off 8 hours, waymarked.

Additional information

Some races start or finish in Keswick; other races list Waterhead as a start location. The event is registered with the International Trail Running Association (ITRA); finishers can earn up to 6 ITRA points, depending on distance.
