L100 Recce 4: Pooley Bridge - Ambleside
The L100 Recce 4 is a preparation event designed for participants of the Montane Lakeland 50 and 100. This session focuses on the section of the course between Pooley Bridge and Ambleside, allowing runners to familiarise themselves with the terrain and route prior to the official race. The event is located at Dalemain Mansion in Cumbria.
The route covers a total distance of 26 miles and follows the first half of the Lakeland 50 course. Participants will encounter significant climbs as the trail passes through Mardale Head and Kentmere before reaching the finish point in Ambleside.
Registration for this recce is strictly limited to individuals who already hold a confirmed place in the 2026 Lakeland 100 or Lakeland 50 events. Participants must be at least 18 years old. The following services and requirements are included or mandatory for the event:

The registration fee covers coach transport, medical support, and basic refreshments at checkpoints. Specific cut-off times are enforced at checkpoints along the route, and all participants must carry the full kit as specified by the event organizers.
