Event Information
This is the fourth of a series of official course familiarization days for the Montane Lakeland 50 & 100 events. It is called L100 Recce 4: Pooley Bridge - Ambleside.
The route covers a section of both the Lakeland 50 and 100 courses, running from Pooley Bridge to Ambleside, a total distance of 26 miles. It is described as the first half of the Lakeland 50 route, including climbs to Mardale Head and Kentmere. Participants must carry full mandatory kit as specified by the event organizer, and there are cut-off times at checkpoints. Entrants must ensure they are fit enough to meet these cut-offs.
The event is now full and is not accepting new entries. Participation is strictly limited to runners who have been confirmed as having a place in the Lakeland 100 or 50 event for 2026. Entry for this recce day cost £30. This fee includes coach transport, medical support, and basic refreshments at checkpoints.
