L100 Recce 4: Pooley Bridge - Ambleside
This recce day is part of the Montane Lakeland 50 and 100 programme and is intended to help competitors familiarise themselves with the course prior to the main events. The recce covers a route of 26 miles from Pooley Bridge to Ambleside and includes the climbs to Mardale Head and Kentmere. Registration for each recce costs £30 and includes coach transport, medical support and basic refreshments at checkpoints. Full kit is required as specified by the event organisers and there are cut off times at checkpoint locations, so participants must ensure they are fit enough to meet those cut offs before starting. Full event details will be sent to participants one week before the recce date.
Entry is restricted to people who have been confirmed as holding a place in the Lakeland 100 or 50 for 2026. Entries opened on 25 September 2025 and closed on 11 June 2026. If an unauthorised entry is submitted it will be cancelled and the entry fee will be returned less an administration charge of £5, with potential consequences for future entry eligibility.
