L100 Recce 4: Pooley Bridge - Ambleside
L100 Recce 4 takes place on Sunday 14 June 2026. The event starts from Dalemain Mansion, Dalemain, Cumbria (CA11 0HB). It is one of the Montane Lakeland 50 & 100 recce days and is organised by The Lakeland 50 & 100. The recce days are intended to help competitors familiarise themselves with the course prior to the main events.
Route, entry and logistics
The recce follows part of the 50 and 100 course and covers 26 miles from Pooley Bridge to Ambleside. The route includes climbs to Mardale Head and Kentmere before heading to Ambleside and represents the first half of the Lakeland 50 route. Full kit is required and there are cut off times at checkpoints, so participants must ensure they can meet those cut offs before starting. Registration for this recce costs £30 and includes coach transport, medical support and basic refreshments at checkpoints. Entries open 25 September 2025 and close 11 June 2026. The event minimum age is 18 or older. Only competitors who have been confirmed as having a place in the Lakeland 100/50 2026 should enter; unconfirmed entries will be cancelled and the fee returned less a £5 admin charge.
