Lake Yahou - Anniston, AL
Lake Yahou is a trail race at 370 Lake Yahou Road near Anniston, Alabama, offering three distances: a 50 kilometer, a 10 mile, and a 5.5 mile course. The lake opened for recreational use in 2022 and this event starts at the lake with trails that are mostly non-technical single-track dirt. Runners should expect rocks and roots in places and a few sections with larger rocks or boulders.
Distances
- 50K: three loops, elevation around 3000 feet, 10 hour cutoff.
- 10 miles: single loop about 10.5 miles, elevation around 1000 feet, 4 hour cutoff.
- 5.5 miles: single loop about 5.5 miles, elevation around 551 feet, 3 hour cutoff.
Aid stations include a full station at the start/finish and a second station about 3.8 miles in that may be full or self-serve depending on volunteers. This is a cupless event so participants must bring their own liquid container. Each finisher who completes their entered distance receives a hand painted finisher rock. Awards are given to the top three male and top three female finishers for each distance; dropping to a lower distance during the race makes a runner ineligible for awards. Long sleeve shirts are available for registrants who choose a size and register before September 9. Packet pickup occurs race day at the start line from 7:00am to 7:50am.
