Lake Yahou : Anniston, AL
Lake Yahou is a trail race event organized by Dirty Soles Trail Races at 370 Lake Yahou Road in Anniston, Alabama. The course uses mostly non-technical single-track dirt with natural features such as rocks and roots; there are a few sections with larger rocks or boulders. The venue opened for recreational use in May 2022 and the event includes multiple loop formats.
Distances offered:
- 50K - three loops, about 3000 ft elevation gain, 10 hour cutoff.
- 10 Miler - one loop about 10.5 miles, about 1000 ft elevation, 4 hour cutoff.
- 5.5 Miler - one loop about 5.5 miles, about 551 ft elevation, 3 hour cutoff.
Aid is provided at the start/finish as a full aid station. About 3.8 miles in, the McClellan Trailhead will have either a self-serve water/snacks station or a full aid station depending on volunteers. This is a cupless event; participants must provide their own vessel for liquids.
Finish perks include a hand-painted finisher rock for those who complete the distance they entered, plus food, beverages and music at the finish area. Awards are given to the top three female and top three male finishers in each distance. Long sleeve shirts are available to registrants who select a size before September 9. Registrations are nonrefundable and nondeferrable; transfers to another runner are handled by the organizer. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
