Lake Yahou - October 10, 2026
Lake Yahou is a trail race event in Anniston, AL, organized by Dirty Soles Trail Races. The lake was opened for recreational use in May 2022 and this event is the first trail race to start at the lake. The race uses nearby mountain trails familiar to participants of McClellan Madness.
The trails are mostly non-technical, single-track dirt with rocks and roots. The course is generally runnable with a few rocky or boulder-strewn sections.
Distances
- 50K: Three loops, about 3000 feet elevation, 10 hour cutoff.
- 10 Mile: One loop about 10.5 miles total, about 1000 feet elevation, 4 hour cutoff.
- 5.5 Mile: Single loop about 5.5 miles, about 551 feet elevation, 3 hour cutoff.
Aid stations include a full station at the start/finish and either a self serve water and snacks station or a full station at the McClellan Trailhead about 3.8 miles in depending on volunteers. This is a cupless event so runners must carry their own liquid container.
Finish perks include a hand painted finisher rock for finishers, awards for the top three female and top three male finishers in each distance, post race music and food, and long sleeve shirts for runners who register and select a size before September 9. There are no refunds and no deferrals; transfers to other runners are allowed by contacting the organizer. There is a "Beat the Best" free entry incentive for overall male and female finishers who beat previous best times for their distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
