Lake Yahou - October 10, 2026
Lake Yahou is a trail running event in Anniston, AL organized by Dirty Soles Trail Races and held at 370 Lake Yahou Road. The site opened for recreation in May 2022 and this is the first trail race to start at the lake. The event is capped at 100 runners; a waitlist opens if the race sells out and spots free up only through cancellations.
The trails are mostly non-technical single-track dirt with natural features such as rocks and roots. The course is generally runnable with a few sections that include rocks or boulders.
Distances
- 50K: three loops; elevation about 3000 feet; cutoff 10 hours
- 10 Miler: single loop about 10.5 miles; elevation about 1000 feet; cutoff 4 hours
- 5.5 Miler: one loop about 5.5 miles; elevation about 551 feet; cutoff 3 hours
Aid stations include a full station at the start/finish and either a self-serve or full station near McClellan Trailhead at roughly 3.8 miles depending on volunteers. This is a cupless event; runners must bring their own container for liquids.
Each finisher receives a hand painted finisher rock; dropping to a lower distance during the race makes a runner ineligible for the finisher rock and for top distance awards. Awards go to the top three women and top three men in each distance. The finish area will have music, food and beverages. Packet pickup is on race day at the start line from 7:00am to 7:50am. Registration closes October 6 at 11:59PM CT. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
