Lake Yahou, Anniston, Alabama
Lake Yahou is a trail running event held at 370 Lake Yahou Road in Anniston, Alabama. The course uses newly opened recreational trails composed mainly of non technical single-track dirt with occasional rocks, roots and a few rocky sections. The organizer notes the trails are generally runnable for new and experienced trail runners.
Distances offered:
- 50K: three loops, elevation around 3000 feet, cutoff 10 hours
- 10 Mile: one loop, roughly 10.5 miles total including extra credit, elevation around 1000 feet, cutoff 4 hours
- 5.5 Mile: single loop approximately 5.5 miles depending on GPS, elevation around 551 feet, cutoff 3 hours
Aid stations include a full aid station at the start/finish and either a self serve water and snack station or a full aid station near the McClellan Trailhead about 3.8 miles in, depending on volunteer availability. This is a cupless event; participants must bring their own container for liquids.
Finishers who complete the distance they registered for receive a hand painted finisher rock. Awards are given to the top three female and top three male finishers in each distance. Long sleeve shirts are available to registrants who choose a size and register before September 9. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
