Event Overview
The Sandlot Marathon is a running event scheduled for March 28, 2026, in Elk River, Minnesota. The event takes place at the Dave Anderson Athletic Complex and features two distances: a full marathon and a half marathon.
Course Details
The course consists of multiple loops around a baseball field's bases. For the marathon, runners complete 384 and a half trips, while the half marathon involves 192 and a quarter trips. The course is marked, and runners are expected to stay within the base paths, with the pitcher's mound remaining on their left when rounding the bases.
On-Site Amenities
An aid station is available approximately every 360 feet along the course. It offers standard fare along with hot dog flavored Heed and Heed flavored hot dogs. The station is set up near the on-deck circle by the home team's bench along the first base line.
Participant Perks
Registered runners receive a unisex event t-shirt. All finishers get a unique finisher's award, and race winners receive a special award. The overall winner of the marathon is awarded a Harold Baines baseball card, a tribute to the MLB player who hit 384 career home runs.
