Lake Placid Marathon and Half and 10K
The Lake Placid Marathon and Half and 10K takes place in the Village of Lake Placid, New York. The event features three different distances, all starting and finishing on Main Street at the Olympic Speedskating Oval. The course provides participants with views of the surrounding mountains, open areas, and shaded sections. Runners also pass by Mirror Lake and a class III trout stream.
The following distances are available:
- Marathon: 26.2 miles (double out and back loop)
- Half Marathon: 13.1 miles (single out and back loop)
- 10K: 10 kilometers
The course features a combination of flat sections, rolling terrain, and some hills. There is a general course limit of six hours for the events. The marathon distance is restricted to participants aged 16 and older, and all participants under 18 must have a parent provide a signature in person during registration. The event is walker-friendly and open to group registrations.
Aid stations are located along the route. Participants receive a finisher medal and a race T-shirt, though these gifts are not guaranteed for those who register after May 9, 2026. For the 10K distance, participants registering later may receive a unique wooden finisher medal instead of the standard version. Athlete food is provided at the finish line. Entry fees include a charity component that supports local organizations and global charities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
