Event overview
The Lake Placid Classic takes place on October 10, 2026, at the North Elba Horse Show Grounds in Lake Placid, NY. This is the 55th annual running of the event. It is organised as a not-for-profit race that raises funds for a community wellness initiative and local youth programming. Organisers anticipate over 750 participants in 2026. Packet pick-up is scheduled at the North Elba Horse Showgrounds on Friday, October 9 (4:00–7:00 PM) and Saturday, October 10 (6:00–7:30 AM).

The half marathon and 10K start and finish at the North Elba Horse Showgrounds. Their route includes two moderate hills, one near the start and one toward the end. Awards for the half marathon and 10K include overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd places for male and female, plus the top three in these age groups: 19 and under; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70 and over. The 5K has overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd awards for male and female; there are no age-group awards for the 5K.
Venue parking is available with restricted entry times; once parked, vehicles cannot exit during a specified start-window. Nearby parking is limited and roadside parking is not permitted.
