Lake Placid Classic event
The Lake Placid Classic takes place on October 10, 2026 at the North Elba Horse Showgrounds in Lake Placid, NY. The event is the 55th annual edition and includes multiple race distances held at the same venue.

This event is organized as a not for profit running and walking event that raises funds for a community wide wellness initiative and for local youth programming. The race starts and finishes at the North Elba Horse Showgrounds, located near the High Peaks, and the organizer anticipates over 750 participants in 2026.
The Half Marathon and 10K courses include two moderate hills, one at the start and one toward the end. Awards for those distances include overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd places for male and female, plus top three age group awards in the following ranges: 19 and under; 20 to 29; 30 to 39; 40 to 49; 50 to 59; 60 to 69; and 70 and over. The 5K is new for 2026 and has overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards for male and female only, with no age group awards.
Packet pick up is at the North Elba Horse Showgrounds on Friday, October 9 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM and on race weekend morning. Venue parking is available early on race day and reopens for spectators later; once parked, vehicles may not exit the venue during a specified morning window.
