Lake Placid Classic
The Lake Placid Classic is a not-for-profit running event held at the North Elba Horse Showgrounds in Lake Placid, NY. Distances offered include:
- Half Marathon (13.1 Miles)
- 10K
- 5K
The event raises funds to support a community-wide wellness initiative and local youth programming. Organizers anticipate over 750 participants in 2026.
Course details note that the Half Marathon and 10K each include two moderate hills, one near the start and one toward the end. The 5K follows a new route for the year and is described as a scenic option suitable for walking or running.
Awards for the Half Marathon and 10K include overall first through third places for male and female categories and top three in age groups: 19 and under; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; and over 70. The 5K awards overall first through third places for male and female competitors without age group awards.
Packet pick-up is at the North Elba Horse Showgrounds on Friday, October 9 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Saturday, October 10 from 6:00 AM to 7:30 AM.
Venue parking is limited. Parking closes promptly at 7:30 AM with restricted vehicle entry until later; alternate off-site parking is advised for arrivals after that time. Roadside parking is not permitted.
