Course and venue
Both courses run on asphalt roads at Lake Norman State Park, starting and finishing at the Lake Norman Picnic Ground / waterfront area (759 State Park Rd, Beach area). Routes wind and undulate under a canopy of trees; the organizer notes there is no off-road running. The course holds USATF Certificate # NC18022BDS.
Logistics, entries and policies
Packet pick-up options include a Friday location in Mooresville and on-site pickup at the park on race weekend. Half marathoners must be able to finish within 3.5 hours due to traffic considerations. Strollers are required to start at the back of the 5K; toddlers under four may walk with parents for free. No pets, firearms or alcohol are permitted. Registration price increases occur on listed dates. THERE ARE NO REFUNDS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
Awards and swag
Awards include overall top three men and women plus top three in age groups for each race. Swag items include a finisher medal, hoodies for half marathoners and short sleeve shirts for 5K participants (size guaranteed if registered by the stated deadline), a cup and a decal.
