Montclair Triathlon
The Montclair Triathlon takes place on June 28, 2026 at Lake Montclair, starting and finishing at Dolphin Beach in Montclair, Virginia. The event day includes multiple race formats for adults and separate youth Splash and Dash races.
Event formats and primary distances include:
- Sprint Triathlon: 0.5 mile swim, 12 mile bike, 3.1 mile run
- Sprint Duathlon: 1 mile run, 12 mile bike, 3.1 mile run
- Sprint Aquabike: 0.5 mile swim, 12 mile bike
- Sprint Relay: 15.6 miles, team of 2 or 3 people
- Youth Splash and Dash (7-10): 100 yd swim, 0.75 mile run
- Youth Splash and Dash (11-15): 200 yd swim, 1.5 mile run
The community around Lake Montclair provides the race setting. Montclair is located about 25 minutes south of the Beltway and about 40 minutes from the national capital. The community is bordered to the south by Prince William National Forest Park and is about a 15 minute drive from Marine Corps Base Quantico.
