Lake Mcmurtry Run
The Lake Mcmurtry Run takes place on April 11, 2026. It is described as Oklahoma's oldest trail run, having been started in 1999. The event uses trails around Lake Mcmurtry, which are noted for being beginner-friendly with lake views.
Distances
The event offers multiple distances: 50K, 25K, 12K, and 5K. There are also "Ruck" categories for these distances. The course consists of single-track trail loops on the west side of Lake Mcmurtry, with longer races adding an out-and-back section to the east side. The 50K distance has about 2,600 feet of elevation gain.
Event Details
The finish line cutoff time for all distances is 7:00 PM. Aid stations are described as fully stocked. Packet pickup begins at 6:00 AM on race day at the west side pavilion, which is also the start and finish area. The event location is the Lake Mcmurtry West Recreation Area near Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Registration and Amenities
Registration includes a t-shirt. All finishers receive a unique buckle or medal. Complimentary race photos are provided, and post-race meals are available for all participants. A military discount is offered, and there is a program for volunteer credits toward future races. Participants must purchase a day parking permit for Lake Mcmurtry.
