The Next Loop Endurance Series - Lake Carl Blackwell
The event takes place at Lake Carl Blackwell in Stillwater, Oklahoma, with a clearly marked looped trail that measures 3.1 miles (5K) per lap and returns each circuit to a central start and finish area with a fully stocked aid station.
The trail surface alternates among dirt paths, grass, and lightly packed earth. Elevation is described as gently rolling, with sections wide enough for stable footing. The route includes lakeside terrain, open grasslands, and wooded sections, offering expansive views of the lake and surrounding landscape.
The loop format requires athletes to complete one 5K loop at a time and decide after each loop whether to continue. Every completed loop is recorded and honored, and there are no course cutoffs specified. This setup allows athletes to pace themselves and refuel at the central aid station between laps.
The series is positioned for athletes at different stages: new runners working toward distances like a 10K, experienced runners using multiple laps to practice pacing and nutrition, and participants exploring longer endurance distances by stacking laps.
