52nd Lake Jackson Firecracker 4 : Event summary
The 52nd Lake Jackson Firecracker 4 is a community running and walking event held on July 4, 2026 at Dunbar Park in Lake Jackson, Texas. The program includes a timed road race and a noncompetitive walk, plus short kids races.
Distances
- 4 miles (Firecracker 4 Mile Run)
- 2 miles (Firecracker 2 Mile Walk)
- 1000 m and 500 m (Kids Run distances by age)
Course and services: the course runs on open public roads with vehicular traffic; organizers note there will not be much traffic at race time. Water is available on course near mile 1, just past mile 2, and around mile 3. Portable toilets are located at the start area near the pavilion. Shirts are not included with race fees. Post-race food and drinks are provided.
Awards and children’s program: overall and masters awards plus top three age-group awards are offered for multiple age divisions (14 & under, 15–19, 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70+). The Kids Run is open to children 12 and under; participants receive free T-shirts and finisher medals.
Logistics: packet pickup is available the day before and on the morning of the event at Dunbar Park Pavilion. Proceeds support District 2S4 Lions Charities, a 501(c)(3) organization. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
