Bulldog Paws for Patriots 5K Fun Run
The Bulldog Paws for Patriots is a community 5K fun run and walk taking place on April 17, 2027, at Hanson Park on Hwy 35 in West Columbia, Texas. The event is hosted by the Sweeny High School Interact Club and is presented as family friendly. Participants may run or walk and may bring well behaved dogs on leash to accompany them during the 5K.
All net proceeds from the event will benefit The Warrior's Refuge, a nonprofit in West Columbia that serves veterans. The Warrior's Refuge provides transitional housing, counseling and support for mental health and substance use challenges, case management, and education, employment, and vocational resources to assist veterans experiencing homelessness or other barriers to stability and independence.
Registration is offered in three periods with different fees. Early bird registration runs September 1 through December 31, 2026; adults age 19 and older are $25 and students age 18 and younger are $10. Regular registration runs January 1 through March 20, 2027; adults $30 and students $15. Late registration runs March 21 through April 16, 2027; adults $35 and students $20. Registration closes April 16, 2027.
