Bulldog Paws for Patriots 5K Fun Run
The Bulldog Paws for Patriots 5K Fun Run is a community 5-kilometer run and walk held on April 17, 2027, at Hanson Park on Highway 35 in West Columbia, Texas. The event is organized by the Sweeny High School Interact Club.
The event is described as family friendly and open to participants of all ages. Both runners and walkers may take part, and well-behaved dogs on a leash are permitted to accompany participants along the 5K course.
One hundred percent of the proceeds will benefit The Warrior’s Refuge, a West Columbia nonprofit that serves veterans. The Warrior’s Refuge provides transitional housing, counseling and support for mental health and substance-use challenges, case management, and education, employment, and vocational resources to help veterans rebuild stability and independence.
Online registration opens September 1, 2026. Price tiers are: early bird September 1 to December 31, 2026 with adults age 19 and older at $25 and students age 18 and younger at $10; regular registration January 1 to March 20, 2027 with adults $30 and students $15; late registration March 21 to April 16, 2027 with adults $35 and students $20. Registration closes April 16, 2027.
