About the race

The Lake District Running Festival on 10 April 2027 is a trail running event based at Keswick School, Vicarage Hill, Keswick CA12 5QB. It offers two measured routes with waymarked trails, marshals at major junctions, A5 arrows and signage, and a GPX file for navigation.

The event features:

53 km route with 2,640 m elevation gain
23 km route with notable climbs and lake views

The 53 km route passes Derwent Water and Seathwaite, ascends Scafell Pike, drops into Wasdale, skirts Kirk Fell, crosses Honister Pass, summits High Spy and descends via Catbells back to Keswick. The 23 km route passes Derwent Water and Manesty, climbs High Spy and returns via Catbells.

Entries include a unique themed medal, free race photos, chip-timed results, post race goodies and a bag drop. Aid stations provide water, electrolyte drink, fruit and a selection of snacks with vegetarian and vegan options. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and is held under UK Athletics rules. Minimum ages are 20 years for the 53 km and 17 years for the 23 km. Time cutoffs are applied for each route and participants should be prepared to self-navigate if conditions require course correction. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
