Lake Country Freedom 5K & 10K : Oconomowoc, WI
The Lake Country Freedom 5K & 10K is a multi-event run, walk, and ruck held during Oconomowoc’s 151st Hometown Celebration at Roosevelt Park, 103 W. Jefferson, Oconomowoc, WI 53066. Races start at Roosevelt Park and proceed onto the paved Lake Country Trail, described as very flat with limited elevation change.
Distances included:
- Freedom Kiddos 1K (free for children if a parent is registered)
- Freedom 2 Mile Walk
- Freedom 5K
- Freedom 5K Ruck
- Freedom 10K
Every participant receives a finisher woodle crafted by Ridgeway Woodworks; additional finish items include a finisher medal and a cotton event shirt for those registered by noon on June 20 (later shirts while supplies last). Finish-line food is provided, with hot dogs and a selection of condiments and sides. There are two on-course aid stations plus a finish-line station offering water and Gatorade.
Rucking involves walking with a weighted backpack; ruck divisions are timed but not competitive and do not receive age-group awards. The Kiddos 1K supplies bibs and a finisher medal for children under 10 but does not include shirts. Pets are not allowed due to municipal ordinance.
Packet pickup requires a QR code on the registration receipt; the code may be shown on a mobile device or as an image. Refunds are not permitted; the event will be held unless severe weather forces delay or cancellation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
