Lake Apopka Scenic Trail races
On Saturday, February 13, 2027, a series of trail races takes place along Lake Apopka North Shore, with start and finish at Magnolia Park, 2929 Binion Road, Apopka, FL. The event uses sections of the Lake Apopka Loop Trail and nearby hard-packed trails.
Distances offered:
- 30K 18.6 miles on the Lake Apopka Loop Trail, mostly packed lime rock or clay
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles) out and back on a hard-packed trail along the north shore
- 8 Miler out and back to the historic Lake Apopka Pump House
- 5K out and back on a hard-packed trail along the lake
Eligibility requires a minimum age of 16 for the 30K; there are no minimum age requirements for the 8 Miler and 5K. The course closes at 12:45 pm; 30K participants must maintain about a 17:45 minute per mile pace to meet the cutoff.
The event is fully supported with multiple hydration and refueling stations located at mile 3, 7.3, 11.7, 14.7, and 17.1. Aid stations are cup-free so participants should carry their own hydration system or bottles. Roving medical personnel cover the course. Each participant receives a long-sleeved mesh technical shirt and all finishers receive a custom finisher medal. Awards are presented by overall, masters, and five-year age groups.
