Lake Apopka Scenic Trail events
The event features multiple trail distances that follow sections of the Lake Apopka Loop Trail and the lake's Northshore. The main 30K course covers 18.6 miles along the loop trail and starts and finishes at Magnolia Park in Apopka. Much of the trail surface is packed lime rock or clay; the shorter courses use hard-packed trail in an out-and-back format along the Northshore. The 8 Miler reaches the historic Lake Apopka Pump House and returns to Magnolia Park.

Eligibility and cutoff: The minimum age for the 30K is 16; there is no minimum age for the 8 Miler and 5K. The course closes at 12:45 pm and 30K participants must maintain at least a 17:45 minute per mile pace to meet the cutoff.
Support and amenities: The event is fully supported with roving medical personnel and aid stations at mile 3, 7.3, 11.7, 14.7, and 17.1; stations are cup-free so participants should carry their own hydration. Registered participants receive a long-sleeved mesh technical T-shirt and a finisher medal. Awards are presented to top overall, masters, and age-group finishers.
A portion of each entry fee benefits the Friends of the Green Mountain Scenic Byway. The Lake Apopka Loop Trail provides over 20 miles of recreational trail and notable birding and wildlife viewing opportunities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
