Lafayette Res Run for Education
The Lafayette Res Run for Education is a community running event co-sponsored by the Lafayette Chamber and the City of Lafayette. The 2026 edition is scheduled for Sunday, October 18 in downtown Lafayette, California. The event supports local schools and Chamber services and programs.
Races offered include:
- 10K (6.2 miles)
- 5K
- 2 Mile
- Reservoir Challenge virtual around the Lafayette Reservoir trail
Registration fees for the listed events are $30. In-person race registration opens February 25 and closes July 1. The Reservoir Challenge virtual registration opens February 25 and closes October 1, and the virtual challenge takes place October 10 through October 17. Packet pickup is available at the Lafayette Chamber Office, 251 Lafayette Circle, Ste 150, Lafayette, CA, and on race day at Mt. Diablo Boulevard just east of Lafayette Circle. Race packets include a long sleeve t-shirt while supplies last and a race bib.
The event names local schools among its beneficiaries and reports the total amount given back in 2025 as $37,611.32, distributed among area elementary, middle, and high schools. The first 100 students to register from each school receive a voucher for a free quarter pound of bulk candy during packet pickup. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
