Events
The Dick Collins Firetrails is an ultrarunning event featuring three distances: the Bay Ridge 100k, the Firetrails 50 Miler, and the Golden Hills Marathon. It takes place on September 26, 2026, at Lake Chabot in Castro Valley, California.
The Courses
The event will use a version of its traditional courses. The Firetrails 50 Miler returns to a fast, classic route. The Bay Ridge 100k course also follows the traditional path. Details for the Golden Hills Marathon course were pending at the time of publication. The races are UTMB Index events, and the Firetrails 50 Miler is part of the Pacific USATF Grand Prix.
Logistics and Time Limits
The event has firm time cutoffs due to park permits and curfews.
- Bay Ridge 100k: 16.5 hours
- Firetrails 50 Miler: 15.5 hours
- Golden Hills Marathon: 13.5 hours
Parking at the start is available and free for participants. Detailed athlete guides with aid station information are typically released closer to the event date.
Participant Items and Awards
All finishers receive a shirt, a finisher's hoodie, a wine glass, a custom bib, a finisher's "woodallion," and race pictures. Bay Ridge 100k finishers also receive a belt buckle. Age group awards are given to top finishers in 10-year increments.
Registration Policies
The organizer generally does not offer refunds. Outside of 30 days before the event, registration can be deferred to a future year or another race by the same organizer. Within 30 days, deferrals may be granted in exchange for volunteering. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
