Dick Collins Firetrails - September 26, 2026
Dick Collins Firetrails is a trail running event in Castro Valley, California, organized by Scena Performance and held at Lake Chabot Regional Park. The event stages multiple races on versions of the original Firetrails courses, with the 100k leaning into the OG course and running to Rancho Laguna. The 50 mile and marathon courses also return to OG alignments with only a few small changes from the classic routes.
Races offered:
- 100k
- 50 mile
- Marathon
The event is part of broader race series and indexes: the races carry UTMB index status and the 50 mile is included in the Pacific USATF Grand Prix. Time limits are published for each race: the 100k has a 16.5 hour limit, the 50 mile has a 15.5 hour limit, and the marathon has a 12.5 hour limit. Cutoffs are firm because of park permits and regional curfew requirements.
Logistics notes available in the athlete guides cover aid stations, drop bags, pacers, crew access and course details. The marathon resumes a point to point layout with bus service provided from the start area. Parking at Lake Chabot Marina is free and drop bag handling is provided from the park entrance.
Finishers receive event apparel and commemorative items specific to each distance. Refunds are generally not offered; deferral options exist outside 30 days and limited deferrals inside 30 days may be granted in exchange for volunteering.
