Event Overview

The Ladybower Reservoir Trail Running Festival takes place on Saturday, 26 September 2026. The event is based at the Hope Showground in Hope Valley.

Distances

The event offers two trail running distances:

  • 52K
  • 21K

Course Description

Both routes start in Hope Village. The 21K route climbs Win Hill for views across Hope Valley before descending into forest. It follows rolling riverside paths towards the Thornhill Trail and returns through Aston to finish in Hope. The route features varied terrain. The longer 52K route also summits Win Hill and then traverses the edges of Ladybower, Derwent, and Howden reservoirs. It crosses moorland over Back Tor, Derwent Edge, and Whinstone Lee Tor before joining the Thornhill Trail for the run back to Hope.

Event Features

The course features clear waymarking with distance flags at each kilometre. Aid stations are stocked along the route. A finish area is located beside the event village in Hope, which offers food and drink options. Entry includes a unique themed medal, chip-timed results, free race photos, and post-race goodies. An event t-shirt with the race logo is available as an optional purchase during registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
