Lacing Up for Cancer Care 5K and 1 mile Run/Walk/Rock
The third annual Lacing Up for Cancer Care event takes place in Downtown Statesville on October 3, 2026. The event brings together runners, walkers, and a Rock option to support local patients undergoing active cancer treatment.

- 5K Run/Walk
- 1 mile Run/Walk/Rock (untimed)
Participation fees start at $35 for the 5K and $25 for the 1 mile and Rocking options. Sponsorship levels are available, with a listed top sponsorship of $2,000. All proceeds benefit the Cancer Care and Patient Support Fund of the Iredell Health Foundation.
The fund provides financial assistance for patients who need help with transportation, lodging, and other discretionary expenses related to cancer treatment. Medals are provided for the 5K only. Awards are offered for overall and masters categories by sex, plus placements by age group, including under 12, 13 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 and older.
