34th Annual Labor Day 5K Race and Family Fitness Walk
The event is scheduled for September 7, 2026, at South Plainfield Middle School, 2201 Plainfield Ave, South Plainfield, NJ 07080. It includes a timed 5K run and a shorter family fitness walk that follows a 1.5 mile course along the parade route. The run takes place before the town parade and occurs while parade spectators are present; participants can remain to watch the parade afterward.

Registration and fees are organized by event entry. The main 5K registration opens July 17, 2026 and closes August 16, 2026; the 5K student entry registration opens July 19, 2026 and closes September 5, 2026. The 1.5 Mile Fitness Walk registration opens July 17, 2026 and closes September 5, 2026. Standard 5K fee is $15.00. Student entries and the walk carry a $5.00 fee. A discounted price is available for registrations made before August 10; valid school ID or a report card must be presented to receive a student price. Students who use the student entry option are not eligible for cash prizes.
